Island JADE Society, formerly known as North Island Advocacy Coalition Society, is a registered charity and not for profit advocacy organization in Campbell River. Our staff has been providing community based advocacy in our community since 1991.
The purpose of Island JADE Society is to promote the well being of people in crisis and improve the quality of life for those living in poverty.
As you can imagine, our work is important. It requires leadership and vision, commitment and courage.
We are looking for a few good people who would like to make a difference in our community.
We require Board Members who support the values, vision and direction of Island JADE Society.
We require Board Members who bring a strong ability to organize and prioritize a multi-task workload, take initiative and be flexible.
We require Board Members who have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to assist in grant writing, fundraising, public speaking and/or supporting promotional events.
We require Board Members who exercise sensitivity, tact, discretion and good judgment and who have the capacity to think and act in a self-directed manner and to play a constructive role as part of a broader team.
We require Board Members who are seniors, youth, people from all cultural backgrounds, community health workers, educators, lawyers and community justice workers, academics, business people, artists, journalists, retirees, people with poverty or homelessness experience, and members of the faith community.
