Food bank often doesn't have perishible food like milk and vegetables.

Gas certificates fuel costs are not covered by those needing to get to health appointments or take their children for treatment in Victoria

General needs

·                    grocery store gift certificates in ten or twenty dollar denominations

·                    cases of Boost or Ensure

·                    cases of baby formula

·                    Gift certificates to local stores like Zellers, Canadian Tire.

·                    cash donations in trust for dental and optical needs of our clients (often to pay the difference between Ministry rate and rate charged or to get urgent work done that person is not eligible for through welfare or for someone not on welfare)

·                    gift certificates for fast food (McDonalds, Wendy's, Tim Horton's, Subway, etc)

·                    gift certificates for hair salons/barber

·                    gift certificates for pharmacy (for over the counter drugs like Tylenol, neo citron, allergy medication, vitamins, ointments, and personal hygiene products)

·                    sponsor a child or family for community recreation program

·                    pool passes

·                    cash donations in trust for medical transportation funds (fuel or transit)

·                    gift certificates to shoe stores
